Record and File Structure: Far Encounter
(applies to Voyager 1 Jupiter and Saturn, Voyager 2 Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and
Neptune)

Character # | Meaning |
1 | V for Voyager |
2 | 1 or 2 for Voyager 1 or Voyager 2 |
3 and 4 | Last 2 digits of Year of File Beginning (77 = 1977) |
5, 6, and 7 | Day of Year for File Beginning (1 = January 1) |
8 | "A","B","C","D","E","F","G", or "H" for File Beginning Time of SCET Hour 0,3,6,9,12,15,18,21, respectively |
9 and 10 | MG identifying this file as LECP Far Encounter/Cruise Mode |
11 and 12 | 01 through 16 identifying which Far Encounter Cruise Rate Group is present (see table 3 below) |
13, 14, 15, and 16 | .CSV Identifying this file as Comma Separated Variable ASCII form with the first record containing column labels and all subsequent records to end of file having items as described in Table 2 below. Note that missing data is denoted in two ways--successive commas with no intervening space in the counts field denotes missing data. The corresponding T_acc. Field will show 0. |
